It seems as though Clarence Thomas loves the freebies. A few days ago the LATimes ran a rundown (free registration may be required to view) of his willingness to accept gifts from just about everyone. Scary taste, as evidenced by the NASCAR jacket. Not that it was ever going to be a legitimate hope on the Bushies part, but Dubya certainly won't be able to push for Thomas as Chief Justice given this sort of laundry on the line. In all fairness, Chuckles only "claims" $42K over 6 years. But the next closest Justice in terms of gifts accepted totals less than $6K. It is what it is, folks.
